What is Oryn currency?

Oryn is a virtual record-keeping credit that represents the value of services exchanged between ICTY members. It has no cash value, cannot be bought or sold for real money, and is non-transferable outside of authorised service exchanges. Each member's Oryn balance is calculated automatically as the sum of their completed exchange records on the ledger. Because Oryn is a shared unit of value independent of any national currency, members in different countries can trade with each other directly — no FX conversion is needed for barter exchanges.

Built for team projects

Oryn currency works best when one project needs several different professionals at once — a startup that needs an accountant, a lawyer, an IT specialist and a marketer, for example. You can bring the whole team on board without any upfront cash, track and value each provider's contribution separately in Oryn, and settle in real value later — once you're able to, or once the completed project can be properly valued. Oryn also records the hours each provider spends, so you can apply real-currency valuations yourself when valuing the completed project or negotiating an outside settlement.

The Oryn Bank — deposits, interest & loans

The Oryn Bank lets you put your Oryn to work or access credit before you deliver your side of an exchange.

Oryn Bank loans are issued in Oryn, not real currency. Interest rates and the loan cap multiplier are admin-configurable settings. Oryn itself always has no cash value.

Promote your services with Oryn advertising

Spend your earned Oryn to buy ad slots that put your services in front of the whole ICTY community. There are two placement types, both clearly labelled "Sponsored" so members always know what is promoted.

Ad slot prices and duration are admin-configurable. All ads are subject to ICTY's community guidelines — ICTY reserves the right to cancel ads that violate them without refund.

Liability and outside settlements

ICTY is not responsible for any default on Oryn currency collaborations. If a collaboration fails, if a participant fails to deliver their agreed service, or if the parties fail to settle an Oryn currency arrangement, ICTY bears no responsibility and accepts no liability. Participation in Oryn currency exchanges is entirely at users' own risk.

Oryn currency has no cash value. Any settlement of Oryn currency obligations in cash, goods, or other consideration outside the ICTY platform is undertaken solely at the users' own risk and responsibility; ICTY is not a party to such arrangements and accepts no liability for them. ICTY is not liable for any loss of Oryn currency or for any default by another user, including failure to deliver an agreed service or repay an Oryn Bank loan. Oryn balances are records of agreed exchanges only and ICTY provides no guarantee of performance by other users.
